Latest exhibitions - London, November 2015

John is showing two paintings in a group exhibition held by the Society of Catholic Artists at the church of St Stephen, 39 WALBROOK, LONDON EC4N 8BN. The two abstract paintings are entitled "The Leaven" and "The Mustard Seed".

Latest exhibitions - Crawley, December 2015 - January 2016

John will also be showing landscape paintings at an exhibition of the Society of Sussex Painters at The Hawth Theatre, Crawley, West Sussex, running from 14th December 2015 until 8th January 2016.


John has had an abstract painting entitled Nativity 1 in the Christian Arts exhibition "One Equall Light" based on the sacred poems and sermons of John Donne. The exhibition was at two venues in London, St James Church Piccadilly, and St Giles Church Cripplegate. John's work was in St James church, and was on show from 2 - 20th July 2014..

John has also had five landscape paintings on show in a group exhibition in Worthing, Sussex, presented by the Society of Sussex Painters. The exhibition ran from 12 - 26 July 2014.

New book about John's paintings

IVORY PUBLICATIONS has brought out a book about the paintings and sculptures in St George's Church, Hangleton, Hove. This book shows 54 photographs of the paintings by John Armstrong and the woodcarvings by Balavendra Elias, together with two ceramic sculptures by Romola Jane and a dalle de verre window by the monks of Buckfast Abbey. The book includes a foreword by the Right Reverend Kieran Conry, Bishop of Arundel and Brighton. There was an official launch party at St George's Church Hall on Saturday 21st September. Worthing Open Exhibition

John is showing a landscape painting, "Egghill" at the Worthing Open exhibition at Worthing Museum and Art Gallery, from 10th August to 16th November 2013.

Littlehampton "Harvest" Exhibition

John is showing three paintings at Littlehampton Museum's Autumn exhibition. The exhibition runs from Saturday 14th September to Friday 1st November.


Wells Cathedral Exhibition

John and Helen are currently showing works in an exhibition at Wells Cathedral, Somerset, organised by Christian Arts. The exhibition runs from Saturday 8 - Friday 21st September 2012. More information about the Wells exhibition can be found on the Christian Arts website

Society of Sussex Painters at Grange Gallery Rottingdean Brighton

John and Helen will also be showing their work at the forthcoming exhibition by the Society of Sussex Painters at Rottingdean from 18th October - 6th November 2012.

Society of Sussex Painters at Littlehampton

On now - February 2012

John and Helen are currently showing paintings in a group exhibition with the Society of Sussex Painters at Littlehampton.

The venue is Littlehampton Museum, Manor House, Church Street, Littlehampton, West Sussex BN17 5EW. Opening times - Monday-Friday, 9am - 4.30pm; Saturday 10.30am - 4.30pm. Admission free.
